Education
I currently hold a B.S. in History from the State University of New York at Geneseo. In addition, as of December 2013 I will hold an M.S. in Reading and Literacy: B-12 from SUNY Geneseo. I hold a certificate in Adolescent Education: Social Studies since 2010.
Experience
Successful, experienced teacher at a local high school. I have four years of teaching experience in Global History, Economics and Participation in Government. I have taught a wide variety of students ranging from gifted to special needs. In addition to teaching social studies, I also teach a guided study hall in which I support students with organizational and study skills as well as guide them with their homework. In addition to my current position as a high school social studies teacher, I also have clinical experience in a reading clinic. I tutored two students with reading needs as well as helped to support writing development. Each student was able to improve within their reading ranges within a six week time frame. I have been able build a positive rapport with my students while challenging them to do the best they are capable of.
